About

Capannone is an Italian fine-dining restaurant located in Vasastan, Stockholm. It sits one floor below street level, accessed by descending a staircase from the street, giving it a distinct "hidden gem" feel that regulars often describe as resembling a speakeasy or New York underground dining room. Ownership and history The restaurant is founded and run by Sacha Smederevac, who also opened the café chain Caffé Nero in 2004 and, on the same premises, later Buco Nero (which translates to "black hole") in 2009. In 2020, Buco Nero was fully gutted and rebranded as Capannone — the Italian word for "hangar" or "large shed" — with a warmer, more opulent interior replacing the old stripped-back aesthetic. The team includes a sommelier and experienced front-of-house staff, and the Bottega wine bar at street level is part of the same operation.
